The 2023 Human Rights Situation Assessment Report by the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (NHRCT) emphasized actions to address violations of women’s rights, with domestic violence identified as a key issue. The report highlighted awareness-raising efforts, including the campaign “เรื่องผัวเมียยุ่งได้” ("Interfering in Spousal Matters is Allowed"), to challenge societal tolerance of domestic violence. It also recommended policies to address sexual harassment and abuse in educational institutions. Key proposals included improving gender sensitivity among law enforcement and judicial actors in line with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), ensuring women’s access to justice, and promoting their representation in decision-making and political roles.
